What does Green Sustainable Energy do ?

Green Sustainable Energy is an innovative Renewable Energy Company. Established in 2012, the company was one of the first UK companies to fund a turbine through Peer to Peer lending which led to it’s first turbine in March 2014. The company is now developing game-changing and disruptive ideas that have the potential to change the market.

We are currently expanding into two exciting new fields using renewable energy generated from our own wind farm. Firstly we are moving into battery storage and with with the use of AI we can respond to fluctuating demands through the capture and storage of energy. This can then be exported to homes when wind levels drop and demand is high. Secondly we are developing electric vehicle charging points with ground breaking prototypes supplied with energy generated by our own turbines.

Generative AI use in Battery Storage

The energy we produce from wind is intermittent and as solar and wind renewables grow in the UK, the need for balancing services has increased. Low winds and cold temperatures can drive imbalances. Geopolitical problems around the world has contributed to record high prices in recent years. As we race to build more wind and solar to reduce the dependence on fossil fuels, there is a continued greater need for versatile battery storage.

Our Battery Energy Storage Systems will be rolled out in 2024 and these batteries will be charged using our own renewable energy to maximise sale of energy by exporting to homes when prices are at their highest. Integrating battery storage with wind power addresses the intermittent nature of wind energy, making it a more reliable and consistent source of electricity.

Our AI technology is the brain behind the operation. It predicts energy demand patterns, optimizing when to store excess energy and when to export it to the grid or directly to households. This isn’t just renewable energy; it’s intelligent power management, adapting in real-time to ensure a constant and efficient energy supply.

As we expand the battery energy storage systems, we hope to enable customers to benefit from lower bills through AI. We are set to pilot a scheme with residential users of domestic storage battery, ground source heat pumps and electric vehicle charging points, and help to shift their usage and reduce their electricity bills whilst help balance supply and demand. This will involve reduced price or free electricity at certain times and avoiding maximum use at peak periods.

Batteries also earn revenue through participating in markets, providing power when supply is scarce and being a source of demand when markets are oversupplied. Revenue Stacking is a new term in the energy storage world where firms such as Green Sustainable Energy use a battery in multiple markets delivering multiple services at the same time including ancillary services such as Dynamic Containment (DC), Dynamic Regulation, Dynamic Moderation, the Capacity Market, the Balancing Mechanism and wholesale markets such as the day-ahead and intra-day. 

Electric Vehicle Charging

In addition to installing our own high speed charging points using our own green energy, Green Sustainable Energy is currently developing mobile car charging points for electric vehicles. We are researching in a prototype charging vehicle that communicates to you via an App and will come to you instead of you having to find a static charging point. We are also leasing sites for fixed point public charging points via our own new utility company where we export to the grid and import back to battery stored charging points though our own utility company.

The number of electric cars is set to increase dramatically but drivers are rightly concerned about the severe lack of public charging points and long waits if charging points are busy. We aim to end the postcode lottery by giving assurance to purchasers of electric cars that they will be able to charge their vehicles wherever they are and whenever they want to with the ability to book mobile recharging slots in advance.
